How did BAM start and why?
It has been 10 years now since Mark has started BAM Basements and Masons. BAM started as a one man show. Mark was doing sales, design and installations. So where did it all begin?
Mark’s home basement flooded prompting him to call a few waterproofing companies for bids. One of the companies offered him a job, while he didn’t take the job at the time, he did end up taking the job a year later. With his many years of experience in construction and building of homes, waterproofing came natural to him.
After working several years with different basement repair companies, Mark saw a need for better value & customer service in the industry, so he decided to open his own business. He chose the motto, “Every consideration given to total customer satisfaction with the highest quality workmanship,” the pillar of the B.A.M! name. He has earned a reputation in Central Iowa of exceeding expectations and possesses a well-rounded expertise that few in the industry can claim.
BAM looks forward to getting down into the basement, finding a solution for the customer, and helping them to understand their problem. BAM strives to bring back old-fashioned integrity with a modern look by taking strong values and combining them with modern technology. Mark says, “Too many companies let modern technology take over their values and customer service and this makes them lose the WOW experience for their customers.
Mark believes that success is when everyone in the company is doing well, and employees are happy. Also, success is when customers have solutions to their waterproofing problems and don’t have to pay too much for a low-quality solution. What situations prompt our customer to contact BAM?
If you have water in the basement you will need a foundation repair. If you have a sump pump failure or need a sump pump installed. Noticing humidity in the basement, I will want a dehumidifier. When needing to add an egress window or to replace daylights in the basement. Seeing cracks in foundation walls. Having bowed walls or needing foundation walls replaced.
Is Waterproofing business seasonal?
Absolutely not! We are waterproof all year round; a lot of people may not realize but 99% of the waterproofing work can be done inside. Interior waterproofing also comes with limited lifetime warranties as opposed to outdoor waterproofing work which doesn’t always have warranties.
BAM just celebrated 10 years of business and we have expanded from a one-man show to having multiple crews with 100 years of combined experience. With 19 employees altogether BAM is continuing to grow and continuing to make sure we follow BAM’s mission to make sure “Every consideration given to total customer satisfaction with the highest quality workmanship”!
