There are several signs. Some of the most common, though, are horizontal cracks, and vertical cracks. Stair stepping cracks in your foundation walls.

Some other things to look for are bowing walls in the foundation. If your windows and doors upstairs become tight or hard to close or open if you have cracks in your drywall, those are other indicators something’s going on.
