Deep Foam Injection is a cutting-edge soil stabilization process that treats the root cause of foundation settlement: weak or compromised soil. Unlike traditional mudjacking which only lifts the slab, Deep Foam Injection penetrates deep into the soil layers to densify and compact loose soils, increasing their load-bearing capacity.
Using high-density, hydro-insensitive polyurethane foam, we can lift settling foundations, stabilize sinking concrete slabs, and fill voids without the need for heavy excavation.
How the Process Works
- Assessment: Our experts analyze soil conditions and foundation levels to determine the injection points.
- Injection: Small 5/8″ holes are drilled, and injection tubes are inserted to specific depths.
- Expansion: The two-part polymer is injected. It expands rapidly (up to 20x its liquid volume), filling voids and compacting the soil.
- Stabilization & Lift: As the soil densifies, it creates upward pressure, lifting the structure back to level.
- Cleanup: Holes are patched with cement, leaving a clean, finished surface.
Benefits of Deep Foam Injection
- Minimally Invasive: No heavy equipment or large excavation required.
- Fast Cure Time: The foam cures in minutes, allowing immediate use of the area.
- Long-Lasting: The polyurethane material is environmentally friendly, waterproof, and will not degrade over time.
- Cost-Effective: Often 30-50% cheaper than full foundation replacement.
- Versatile: Effective for driveways, sidewalks, garage floors, and full home foundations.
Deep Foam Injection vs. Traditional Mudjacking
| Feature | Deep Foam Injection | Mudjacking |
|---|---|---|
| Material Weight | Lightweight (doesn’t burden soil) | Heavy (can cause re-settling) |
| Hole Size | Small (5/8″ – dime size) | Large (1-2″ – soda can size) |
| Cure Time | 15-30 Minutes | 24-48 Hours |
| Water Resistance | Waterproof (Hydro-insensitive) | Susceptible to washout |
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the foam environmentally friendly?
Yes, our polyurethane foam is made from recycled materials and is chemically inert once cured, meaning it won’t leach harmful chemicals into the soil.
How long does the repair last?
Deep foam injection is a permanent solution. The material is designed to last indefinitely without breaking down, ensuring long-term stability for your foundation.
Can this fix my basement walls?
While deep foam injection is excellent for lifting settling footings and slabs, bowing basement walls may require foundation repair methods like wall anchors or carbon fiber straps. We offer comprehensive assessments to recommend the best solution.
